Ethics in Business Awards Winners
Awards to be Presented at the KI Convention Center on November 12th

GREEN BAY, WI – American Foundation of Counseling Services is pleased to announce the winners of the 2009 Ethics in Business Awards. More than 70 individuals and companies were nominated for the three awards. Award criteria included demonstrating both business excellence and the highest standards of such values as civic and social responsibility, integrity, and ethical conduct.

Innovative Services, Inc will be presented with an award in the not-for-profit category. Innovative Services, Inc. (ISI) is a non-profit organization committed to flexible, accessible and family-centered supports and services that honor the dignity, respect the rights and maximize the potential of each individual. These supports include vocational programs, Adult Family Homes, Community-Based Residential Facilities, Supportive Home Care, Supportive Apartment Programs, Supplemental Support Services and Youth and Family Services. Although ISI’s operations began in Green Bay, the organization has grown to support individuals in Outagamie, Waupaca, Sheboygan and Kewaunee counties as well

ISI is dedicated to providing the assistance they can to help individuals achieve their goals and dreams. They believe the individuals they serve should be supported within the community, set high standards and challenge what can be done. ISI believes both employees and those being served have endless possibilities to be successful. They appreciate the individual experiences and personal rewards received from the services they do. Each person is unique and the services required are diverse. The dreams and desires of the people ISI serves are the focal point of all they do; approaches and techniques are adapted accordingly.

The employees at Innovative Services take their work seriously and are accountable for their responsibilities and actions. In addition to being state-licensed, they are certified by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

ISI shows their commitment to their mission and to Brown County though excellent outcomes for their clients, creative approaches to providing care and focus on community integration.

The judges of the Ethics in Business Award provided the following reasons why ISI is the 2009 recipient in the not-for-profit category:

Nsight/Cellcom will be presented with an award in the business category. Nsight/Cellcom, led by brothers Patrick and Robert Riordan, is a wireless phone company that upholds hometown values and a commitment to community outreach, the environment and public service. As a premier communications provider, Nsight/Cellcom is proud of its heritage, local ownership and reputation as an active corporate citizen in the community. Nsight has its roots in providing quality local telephone service through Northeast Telephone Company in Pulaski. The company has stretched beyond any vision its founders could have imagined by becoming a major telecommunications entity in the Upper Midwest. The subsidiary companies under the Nsight name include: Cellcom, Nsight Telservices, Bayland Telephone and St. Paul Tower.

Nsight’s growth was spurred by the evolving needs of their customers. Cellcom’s inception in 1987 was the result of a growing universal desire for instant communication in any location. Cellcom is a provider of communications services throughout Wisconsin and Michigan with more than 80 retail and agent locations. The company’s renowned network is customized to its rural markets and customers. Cellcom strives to provide the best coverage and extraordinary customer service, and continues to grow its territory to better serve its most important asset: its customers. In Green Bay, Cellcom maintains more cell sites than any other wireless provider and is adding sites every year to further enhance service.

In addition to their current cell sites, Cellcom is committed to the development of green cell sites, powered by solar panels. They also have a cellular phone recycling program with proceeds going back to the community.

Cellcom’s commitment to the community is clear. They are supportive of their employee’s efforts in service. As a business, employees contribute their time and resources to many activities, including the Cellcom/Green Bay Marathon.

The judges of the Ethics in Business Award provided the following reasons why Nsight/Cellcom is the 2009 recipient in the Business category:


Connie Greenawald will be presented with an award in the individual category. Connie is the Development and Communications Director at The Einstein Project in Green Bay. Connie's current volunteer commitments include being a Citizen Advocate for Kate Parizek, an individual with special needs, serving on the board of directors for the Cystic Fibrosis “65 Roses Sports Club”, as well as the marketing and the Murder Mystery fundraising committees of American Foundation of Counseling Services. She has also served as a Volunteer Center “celebrity waiter”, Citizen Advocacy Advisory Committee chair through ASPIRO (1996-2007), vice-president of the board of the Wisconsin Federated Humane Societies (2001-2005), stints on the Leadership Green Bay Alumni Network/Membership committee and the Appleton Great Strides CF Walk committee.

Connie is a firm believer in treating people the way you wish to be treated. Her commitment to ethical behavior applies to both her personal and her professional life. She strives to consistently pay it forward.

Connie’s educational background includes a degree in Marketing Communications from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, graduation from the Leadership Green Bay program through the Greater Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and a variety of courses through St. Norbert College and University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Connie is married to Scott and they live in Abrams, Wisconsin. Between them, they have 5 children and 7 grandchildren.

The judges provided the following reasons why Connie is the 2009 recipient in the Individual category:

The awards will be presented at a luncheon event on Thursday, November 12 at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay. The awards luncheon will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 1:10 p.m., and tickets are available for $45 per person or $400 for a table of ten. The keynote speaker for the event will be John Ackerman, Co-Founder and current President of the New Mexico Ethics Alliance. Bill Jartz , WBAY-TV anchorperson, will serve as Master of Ceremonies. American Foundation of Counseling Services (AFCS) founded and is hosting the Ethics in Business Awards to foster a climate of ethical integrity in northeast Wisconsin, to heighten awareness of AFCS within the business community and to raise funds for AFCS’s healing work.
